Royal Forester Dining Car Service By popular demand, The Royal Forester will be running on many weekends in 2010.   Join us for fine food and drinks as you sit back and leisurely travel through the delightful Royal Forest of Dean, hauled by one of our splendid steam locomotives. Please phone us on 01594 845840 (between 1100 and 1600hrs daily) to discuss your requirements.   Details & how to book The Royal Forester Dining Car runs on selected Sunday Lunch times as well as a select few evening, and commences at Norchard Station, just north of Lydney in the remarkable Royal Forest of Dean. There is a large free car park at Norchard Station.   The price for a four course lunch *, inclusive of all day travel tickets is £34.50 adult.. Please note that due to the fixed seating layout, tables can only be booked in multiples of TWO. Also, due to the traditional heritage style of our dining cars, they are regretably not suitable for wheelchair bound passengers.   Table reservations can be made by calling the Dean Forest Railway on 01594 845840 between 11am and 4pm daily.   The travel tickets are Day Rover tickets and are valid for unlimited travel on the Dean Forest Railway on the day of your visit (subject to available train service and excluding Santa Specials).   * We normally offer a vegetarian option for the main course. Please enquire when booking. Prices are for the Sunday Lunch menu. On some occasions charges may be altered to reflect changed menus and special events.   A Gift? Your table is reserved Sit back and relax in the comfort of our First Class Dining Car...   Your friendly Steward serves a four course meal as you leisurely travel along the Dean Forest Railway, hauled by one of the magnificent Steam Locomotives.   Enjoy the romantic atmosphere of first class dining on a steam train from a bygone age!   Time for an aperitif before the meal and a liqueur afterwards from the well stocked bar on board. Can there be a more civilised experience?
