Book early to avoid disappointment.

Arrive at least 30 minutes before your train time - plenty to see and do!

Wrap up warm - we try to warm the coaches but on a cold Autumn evening it is not always as warm as we'd like, and you will be spending time in the open as well...

Bring your torch, as our car park at Norchard does not have lights to help you see the way...

Hot & Cold light refreshments including toffee apples will be available.

We regret that dogs (except guide dogs) are not permitted on the Halloween trains.

Ghost Train & Halloween Special

Travel if you dare!

Join us at the Dean Forest Railway on Halloween for a spooky night of strange goings-on.

Three ghost trains are planned to take you for a night ride along the line where sights and sounds not of this shire may be found....

See the witches coven, vampires asleep in their coffins, a grisly graveyard, skulls and skeletons, lots of ghosts and ghouls..

Come in your scariest Halloween costume and you may win a prize!

Judging will take place at 7.15pm with a prize for the best male and the best femaile costume in each of the categories - adult, teen and child.

Fares, times and booking

Reserved seat advance booking is strongly advised as this is a hugely popular event and seats are limited. Please decide on a preferred and alternative train time before calling to avoid disappointment!

Trains run at 6.15pm, 7.30pm & 8.30pm.

Fares are Adults £9

Children (3-16) £6

Children under 3 travel free provided they do not occupy a seat.

All departures are from Norchard station where there is ample car and coach parking.
Please arrive in plenty of time. You are advised to arrive half an hour before your train time, and check in at the Norchard ticket office on arrival. There is lots to see and scare before you catch your train...
